Kathleen E. Cassidy joined Hafetz Necheles & Rocco in 2011. She received her J.D. from Columbia Law School in 2006 as a James Kent Scholar and a B.A. from Yale University in 2000. Prior to joining Hafetz Necheles & Rocco, Ms. Cassidy was an associate in the New York office of the law firm Cooley LLP. Ms. Cassidy’s practice focuses on representing individuals and companies facing criminal investigations and charges. She was part of a trial team that defended a lawyer from a major law firm at a criminal trial based on charges of assisting his client in perpetuating a several billion dollar fraud. Ms. Cassidy represented an individual in a high profile Foreign Corrupt Practices Act case based on allegations of funneling millions of dollars to officials of the government of Kazakhstan, charges which were ultimately settled with a misdemeanor plea. Ms. Cassidy was part of the trial team that obtained an acquittal in the infamous Palladium murder for a man who spent 15 years in prison for a murder he did not commit. She also has significant experience in conducting corporate internal investigations and helping companies and individuals respond to grand jury subpoenas. Ms. Cassidy has argued before the Second Circuit Court of Appeals.

Ms. Cassidy is admitted to the bar in New York and is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States. She is a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the American Bar Association.
